Boston, MA — May 19, 2026 — Systole Health announced that Parkland Health will use Systole Health’s technology and implementation services as part of a pilot program focused on virtual group care for women with hypertension.

The pilot will evaluate the use of Shared Medical Appointments (SMAs), a care model in which patients with similar health conditions receive clinical care and education together in a virtual setting. Parkland will assess whether this approach can improve patient engagement, support blood pressure control, and enhance long-term cardiovascular outcomes.

As part of the pilot, Systole Health will provide technology, provider training, curriculum support, and operational services to assist with implementation and patient engagement.

The program will track metrics including blood pressure control, medication adherence, participation, and patient satisfaction. Findings from the pilot may help inform future quality improvement efforts and decisions regarding broader use of virtual group care models.

“As health systems seek new ways to expand access and improve outcomes, shared medical appointments offer an innovative model for delivering care more efficiently,” said Simin Gharib Lee, M.D.. “We are pleased to support Parkland Health as it evaluates this approach for women with hypertension.”
